Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Pulitzer Prize–winning author Stephen Greenblatt, Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University and general editor of The Norton Anthology of English Literature, for a discussion of his highly anticipated new book, Dark Renaissance: The Dangerous Times and Fatal Genius of Shakespeare’s Greatest Rival.

Greenblatt will be joined in conversation by Neel Mukherjee, acclaimed novelist and author of The Lives of Others (shortlisted for the Booker Prize). Together, they will explore the brief, dazzling life of Christopher Marlowe—Shakespeare’s contemporary, collaborator, and fiercest rival—whose bold works transformed the English stage and helped shape modern culture.
